Nursing Care

The community nursing practice and technological competency can be merged to ensure an increased care levels to the patients. The primary benefit of fusing the two mechanisms is facilitating increased safety for the patient Osaka, K. (2020). The nurses are required to make rounds and monitor the client’s progress. Each nurse has a number of patients that they are expected to care for and tend to all of their needs. Therefore, new technological devices have been introduced into patient care that help the nurses ensure they are safe (Locsin, 2017). Using the gadgets, the healthcare giver can monitor how the clients are faring on. it will have saved them a lot of time that they will invest in ensuring they do increased research and uncover new techniques to benefit the profession. Furthermore, patient monitoring has been simplified since the nurse can accomplish her tasks within her home or delegate her duties to other nurses when out of shift. Therefore, minimal complications will be registered when technology has been fused with caring measures. The primary objective is ensuring they live by the medical institution’s purpose for patient recovery and acquisition of high-quality services thus reducing unnecessary complaints.

Introducing the technological model into the initial community practice has been of significant benefit. However, nurses should remember that patients should not be placed under experimentation using the new gadgets (Tanioka, 2019). They should be ready to use the improvements in ensuring that the past health challenges have been eradicated. Technology is inevitable to change and they will have new mechanisms periodically and should be prepared to learn and incorporated them in an individual’s life journey. A nurse has a duty to care for their patients and respond to all their presented demands. Technology has simplified the process but has not changed or redefined what nurses should do within an organization.

The Community Nursing Practice Model

Nursing theories affect everyday nursing practice. Most nurses employ a number of theories in practice rather than using one theory exclusively. Using a variety of nursing theories during a given day, allows the nurse to choose the best theory to fit the situation. In an ideal setting, nursing theories serve to provide underpinnings to nursing care in every patient encounter. They help nurses use critical thinking skills, analytical skills and improve concept comprehension. Nursing theories improve patient care, patient outcomes, and nurse-patient communication. Through the use of nursing theories in practice, new knowledge and data are gleaned that can influence the future of nursing practice.

The nurses should be well acquainted with public health science, nursing theories, health promotion, cultural sensitivity, collaborative practice. The above community concepts help the nurses easily fit in the communities and hence be able to collaborate with the community members freely. Moreover, the community biodiversity’s are a key concern for the nurses to carry out their health based community activities. The activities include; family and individual advocacy, patient education, and other interdisciplinary approaches(Xue&Intrator, 2016). The above implies that the community nurses should perform the roles of advocator, clinician, consultant, educator, counselor, case manager, and researcher (Wessel, 2015). They meet all the healthcare demands in the entire community (Xue&Intrator, 2016). However, to easily perform the role nurses need to collaborate with community organization and members from other professions continuously. The MSN Essential that is most correlates to community healthcare is the Direct Care Core (Hande, Williams, Robbins, Kennedy &Christenbery, 2017). This MSN component provides the nurses with essential content to enable them to provide direct health care services to the communities at a more advanced level (Hande, Williams, Robbins, Kennedy &Christenbery, 2017).

How Do You See Using the Both of These Theories in Today’s Nursing Environment?

According to Ruth (2015), nursing theory helps healthcare professionals like nurses in understanding patients, their needs while improving patient care outcomes. The nursing theory offers different perspectives that aid nurses in delivering care equally to all patients. The community nursing practice model (CNPM) offers a context for comprehending the wholeness of interrelated lives. This model is founded on the basis that:

Person’s or individuals are respected.

Individuals are caring, while caring is perceived and regarded as the essence of nursing.

Individuals are whole and connected to others entailing communities and families.

CNPM is widely utilized today in identifying health issues and community assets and strengths. Its inquiry group technique is highly used in recognizing health needs and services while resolving them. Smith & Parker (2020) states that this method shows increased possibilities of acceptance of modification by communities. CNPM is used in health promotion and in enhancing care to underserved and vulnerable populations. On the other hand, Rozzano Locsin’s technological competency in caring in nursing is still valuable today in a nursing environment (Melnyk et al., 2019). It is a middle-range theory founded on assumption from Schoenhofer and Boykin work which state:

Technology is mainly utilized to create awareness of the wholeness of an individual from time to time.

Nursing serves as a professional practice and as a discipline.

Having full knowledge of a person is a nursing process that enables continuous appreciation of an individual.

Individuals are whole and caring.

This model is used in the nursing environment to acknowledge that a person or an individual is the primary focus in nursing. Different technologies are applied in knowing a person. This concept of a person as complete and whole requires nursing to intervene every day to make individual patients attain wholeness. On the other hand, an individual as complete in a moment calls for innovation, creativity, and imagination from nurses who provide care in varying situations (Melnyk et al., 2019). It calls for nurses to provide for patients’ needs while recognizing their uniqueness. This model of technology knowing in nursing demonstrates the shared practice of the utilization of technology in learning a person as complete and whole and utilizing technologies of care mainly to comprehend an individual more fully. This theory calls for an appreciation of an individual’s humanness, engaging in mutual knowing, engaging in any dynamic related caring nursing relationship, and furthering knowledge of an individual via technological knowing. According to Smith, & Parker (2020), the Rozzana Locsin model is essential in nursing since it guides its practice while illuminating the harmonious correlation between caring in nursing and technological competency. This theoretical model is useful today like it has been in the past.

The Community Nursing Practice Model and Rozzano Locsin’s Technological Competency as Caring in Nursing

Nursing is distinguished from medicine and allied areas by the “community, Nursing Practice Model.” It allows nurses to gain a better grasp of the patients and their requirements. “Rozzano Locsin’s Technological Competency Model” offers several templates to assist nurses in providing care that improves results while also respecting sick people (Smith and Parker 2014). Combination nursing theories such as “Rozzano Locsin’s Technological Competency Model” and “The Community Nursing Practice Model” is vital inpatient care since it has numerous advantages for both patients and nurses.

These two theories assist health practitioners in maintaining consistent working surroundings with sick people. They provide contemporary equipment and procedures to the nurses to provide excellent treatment to the patients. Nurses can also use these nursing theories to fully analyze and comprehend the patient’s circumstances (Hetzler et al., 2011). Improved communication in hospitals leads to improved patient care as a result of incorporating both nursing ideas. The communication between nurses and patients is improved, resulting in a better patient experience in hospitals. The quality of nursing education has improved as a result of nursing theories.

These nursing theories have resulted in better patient care in general. They have introduced new technologies that have changed the way patients are treated, and nurses are cared for in their workplace. Integrating these two nursing ideas has also resulted in improved record-keeping. They have transformed the hospital’s appearance from physical to electronic documentation (Locsin et al., 2015). It has facilitated better care for sick people by eliminating medical inaccuracy caused by insufficient documentation of their ailment reports. Nursing theories have proven to benefit the patients and the health practitioners; thus, they should be incorporated to achieve better hospital services.
